True that Ricky. Don't know how to respond? Give it a shot.
I should clarify that I need both hands to hold the seven Nokias. The seven are N81 8GB, 7500, 7373, 5700, 5200, 5070, 2760. I know that four of them are S40 3rd, but it wouldn't matter what seven phones they were because the iPhone, now that I have it unlocked, is insanely great.
Well don't get me wrong, the iPhone will be an amazing device one day when there is an abundance of apps available, but right now it just can't really do what a modern mobile should do. It sure is purty though. ;)
You mean it doesn't do what you think a modern mobile should do? I use my phone for voice, sms, maps, music, email, and IM (meebo), which the iPhone does wonderfully (and purty). Not too many people do much more than that. You've got a point though, I can't wait to open MS Word and Excel documents!
I was so excited to get a box with seven brand new phones in it, then so disappointed. iPhone has tarnished my expectations. NGAGE is pretty cool though.
Right - of course I'm speaking to my usage but I think that once you've experienced what a smart os device can do it's hard to go without the functionality. Just one of a hundred examples; I don't want to have to think about preventing my phone from waking me up while I sleep. Apps like IVCM and Advanced Call Manager filter calls automatically so that international (and drunken) calls don't wake me up but my family can still reach me at al times...
Fair enough dude, but I love the iPhone touchscreen where I've previously hated every other touchscreen I've smudged.
I can't say I've come across these advanced call manager apps; my solution is just to set my phone to silent:) Also, iPhone is based on OSX, the smarts will show up more and more.
Oh, there is absolutely no question that there is no better screen or UI than the iPhone. PERIOD. All I'm saying is that the OS has to catch up to the UI. It will - and when it does you can be damn sure I'll own one.
Have you ever checked out the HTC Touch?
I agree with you, the UI is the best. I have faith in Apple making the OS as smart as possible, but without compromising usability, which is really the trick, isn't it?
I have checked out the HTC Touch, but only briefly and pre iPhone. I thought it was cool at the time.
that's definitely the name of the game. Symbian has the usability factor down, but the UI needs a serious revamp. Apple will definitely get there first but the next generation Symbian OS should be a cut above as they've got their work cut out for them...

I can't handle a phone with just a touch screen.

@phoneboy I actually have to admit that I'm REALLY liking the Touch - much to my own amazement...

I have to say that I'm not too impressed with the video so far. Maybe it's the proto fw but it's been pretty choppy for me...
